Life at Allambie has been very busy over the last 6 months. After the Mountain climb it took awhile for all the climbers to recovery!
November and December the children were busy sitting exams at school and college and they all did well.
Christmas was a quiet one at Allambie, the children and I had a lovely Christmas and I would like to thank you Patricia Graham for donating money to Allambie so that we could buy the children Christmas presents.
Sa is doing well working at the Grand Ho Tram Strip Hotel and is enjoying her new career and has made friends.
Nhi who is studying mulit-Media college decided that he would also like to pursue his passion for food and decided that he would like to train as chef as well so study.
In January I approached the restaurant L’usine, They have been a huge support to Allambie over the years and asked them if they had any trainee chef positions.
With L’usine help Nhi was offered a part time trainee chef job at their flagship restaurant in District 1, which means that Nhi can work and train as chef round her college course.
Nhi is really enjoying working in the kitchen and at the moment Nhi is working in the cold kitchen and will work his way up into the hot kitchen.
The rest of the children are doing well and I am pleased to announce that we have a new little boy called Bao. Bao is 13 years old and very small for his age but has the most beautiful smile. We have now got him into full school and Allambie will be supporting him through his education.
We have also a few visitor’s from America and England. We would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Jaki who has been a great support to Allambie over the years.
Jaki Jak is a fellow Vietnamese adoptee like myself who flew over from the UK to visit us. Jaki Jak raises funds for us through her supper club dinners and cookery fair’s in the UK (Norwich) Papaya Verte’s charity page
Jaki treated the Allambie Children and me to lovely dinner on her last night and we would like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support over the years and to everyone that goes to these supper clubs. It is always extra special to me when a fellow Vietnamese Adoptee takes the time to come visit the Allambie Children and me.
I am also pleased to tell you that Jimmy White who came to visit Allambie last year is coming back to Saigon in June.
Ken Doherty & Jimmy White are still in with a shout of reaching the Crucible after winning their pre-qualifying matches.

This charity snooker exhibition in aid of Allambie Orphanage Vietnam is the first of its kind in Saigon.
